Dart Recognized by AF&PA for Sustainability Initiative

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) honored five companies with the 2016 Better Practices, Better Planet 2020 Sustainability Awards during an annual meeting on Friday, Nov. 11 in Cary, North Carolina. 

Among the esteemed recipients, Dart Container was recognized with the Leadership in Sustainability Award – Paper Recovery for Recycling. This award comes in response to implementation of the Dart Container Employee Recycling Center available at the Mason, Michigan headquarters. The Employee Recycling Center offers a drive-thru collection building for employee drop-offs, a dedicated employee-manager, and accepts 10 different materials including newspapers, office paper, and magazines, in addition to various plastics, foam, tin, boxboard, and cardboard items.

According to AF&PA President and CEO, Donna Harman, “Our members' efforts to improve the sustainability of their operations aid progress toward the Better Practices, Better Planet 2020 goals and keep our industry at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing. We applaud the ingenuity and commitment of these award-winning initiatives."
